Sorry Steve, don't know if you've ever driven or owned a car before.

Have you ever driven through a wreck? I'm pretty sure the last thing on a drivers mind it to just mash the gas and go slamming through. They may be a little to busy just trying to get through.

As for the carb and intake. don't know where you come up with your numbers.
Race Demon carb, Barry Grant is who makes it, so wheres the Barry Grant tuning come in?

And as for the intake, don't know where you come in with that number also.

I don't know about you, but my math comes up to $490 for both. So a 500 claim is not out of touch.

Stock out of the box 4412. You go ahead and buy one and see where you get.
You can buy 2 Demons for what a VDL is going for.

Yes, I drive.

I try not to "drive through" wrecks. I try to slow down and avoid them. Thank-you for proving my point. Stop trying to drive through, and definitely don't drive through to beat everyone else to the next "timing trap". Much safer that way. I have been wrecked by people who tried to gain positions as a wreck was happening. That is where the flaw lies in your idea of "racing" to the next timing line AFTER the area of the wreck/caution area.

Yes, I have competed with stock out of the box 4412's. I know where it got me. I have 2. I also have a VDL(bought by a sponsor). I also tried a 4412 one week this year that another competitor told me to try, that his carb guy had tweaked legally. Big differences for sure, but, you can do it right, and cheap, with a stock 4412. You don't have to spend the big money on a VDL.

Not bad. You found a carb on sale and use that as your basis for an argument. Normal cost for that carb(stock out of box from the "racing" sites such as Speedway, Summit, Jegs, etc.) is 400-450, as I stated. Add to that the 150 for the intake(per your own link), and I come up with 550-600(pretty sure that math is correct), and haven't paid shipping yet. Oh, and BTW, call that number listed on the Barry Grant site. You can get personally tuned carbs from them directly, or send yours to them for tuning. That's where that "comes in". You really think people will stop spending money if they think their tweaked carb might be claimed? If that is the case, then don't change the rule to a different carb..... claim the stock 4412 that they are supposed to be running, and maybe you won't see so many VDL's.

All-in-all, let me end with this. I love all the banter and talk on this site. I love to see people such as skmod13, Warren, Paul, and many others putting in their 2 cents. It shows the passion people have for wanting the Bowl, the teams, and the overall program, to succeed and improve. Differences of opinion will always exist. When those differences are discussed respectfully and openly, we can all benefit from that.

If the Bowl can not get ACT or PASS they can sure look into Granite State Pro Stock Series. Granted they just started out and the car number of 16 cars is low for a tour. But I'm sure in 2012 the number for the regular will go up and if they allow the Bowl's own ACT type cars to run they would get a full field. Something to think about.

Why the 'Bowl would run a NH series is beyond me.

The 'Bowl doesn't need to host many touring series, the MRS, ISMA, and NEMST are enough, imo. Touring series cost $$$, something the 'Bowl doesn't really have. Improve the weekly shows before thinking about touring divisions.

If you singed up with Stafford e-mail system. For it's "Fast times newsletter." then you should see in it's newest post that has this.

"Stafford Motor Speedway is finalizing its 2012 schedule of events and will be releasing the schedule next week. The 2012 schedule will have a few new twists and turns, so stay tuned. SMS will also be releasing its 2012 Season Ticket Plans next week as well."

So keep your eyes open for a early 2012 schedule release date for Stafford sometime next week.

The 2012 Stafford Speedway Schedule was released.

The 2012 Schedule looks the same from last year but with a few changes.

They will have 4 WMT races. Same number as last year.
April 27-29th, 200 Laps
May 25th, 125 Laps
August 3rd, 150 Laps
September 28-29th, 150 Laps

They will have two VMRS races.
June 22nd, 80 Laps
August 31st, 80 Laps

June 8th, The SK's will go 100 Laps.

June 30th, the extreme Tuesday, Is now moved to a Saturday night. ISMA - 50 Laps, NEMA - 30 Laps, Pro-4 - 25 Laps and the CARQUEST Champions For Charities.

July 13th, They will add two extra laps to all divisions but for the dare Stock that only get's one extra lap.

Home town SK's have a change. That personally I do not like. The SK 150 on July 20th, will be split into half. Making it two 75 Lap races. This is leaving the Waterford Speedbowl the only track in CT to have a true full distance SK 150.

July 27th, The LM will do two 20 Lap races.

August 10th, 17th, and 24th, the LLM SKL and DS will do two 15 Lap races. DS on the other hand will do two 12 Lap races.

Note: The LM do not have a 100 Lap race this year.

Here is a link for you can check it out as well.

Dare Stocks at 15 laps has always been ridiculous. Should be at least 20 imo.
