Their was a lot of pissed off people last night. You really can't blame the Speedbowl. It was a freak storm. After I left the track after the 2nd rain shower. Half a mile from the track the road's were bone dry. But still people were mighty pissed. Seeing two NEMA races a BL, LC race and only 9 laps of the SK 150. Let's just say curs words were repetitively spoken. I can't tell them what they should have done to please the race fans. But talking to some of the guys under the tower taking cover from the rain this is what we thought of.

-Run the rest of the features on Sunday. Start at 12:00 PM and it would and probably get done at 3:00 or 4:00 PM. People can leave or stay to pay for the Back to school Bash.
-Run the SK 141 with the VMRS on the same night.
-On the SK 141 make up date. If you have held on to your ticket stub and show it at the booth get a 25% off on that nights race.

Those are some ideas that could of happened but did not. I REALLY hope next year when they make the 2013 schedule that they MAKE rain dates. and start thinking of running on a Sunday if a Rain date can not meet. My Image

I paid damn good money to go in the pits and now terry can drive his golf cart to the bank after I got to only see a couple of laps of the biggest race of the sk season... I hope terry makes good and refunds or rain checks the tickets but I'm not holding my breath.

Why would Terry have rain dates? Terry has your money and he didnt have to pay out a bunch of divisions. That's money in Terry's pocket and that pocket only receives money. Just sayin

Yo I just went on the speedbowl website and theyre stating that they were too deep into the schedule to give out refunds... Screw them that's bs.. I work hard for a living to see the races and if I'm paying top dollar that night I should be able to see it.. Not a bunch of kids in banderlos and legend cars for top $. Then in order to see the 150 I have to pay another admission to see that. Terry after this stunt you really show your true colors Paul rose was right there were a bunch (a lot including me) pissed off about the rain but at least make good on it and this isn't making good on it.

I'm just gonna throw it out there because no one's mentioned it yet:

From the Speedbowl's website: Sept 15: SK 150, Twin LM 30's, SS 25, MS 25 & LC 20 - admission to grandstands: $16

For those of you who think Terry took your money and put it in his pocket, just remember in 2 weeks he's paying out the Bud Nats purse, plus double Late Model while charging for a regular (non-special event) Saturday show thru the gates. Will you be offering to pay more money cuz there's so much more racing for no extra cost??? I doubt it - point is, it all balances out in a couple weeks.

For those of you who have plans elsewhere that weekend (i.e. Riverhead WMT show), you can blame that on mother nature. There's really no other choice. Next week in VMRS at the bowl, the 22nd is a Loudon WMT event, the following weekend after that is SMS Final, then the bowl Finale the week after that. Going against Riverhead WMT is the lesser threat then all other options.

And Sunday option isn't feasible. What about the people who just want to go to the Sun Thrill show? What do you charge them? How do you police two different admission prices for two different types of shows on the same day? It wouldn't be feasible to get not only the SK 150, but the 3 other NWAAS division features, then clear the place out and open gates again for Sun show admission. Sunday rain date on this weekend isn't about time to get everything in, it's about operational logistics since you'd be lumping a NASCAR show in with a Family Fun show - two different animals, two different price points, etc

In fact, I think it's a smart move on Terry's part to choose the Riverhead weekend. Race fans in our area have a choice: spend the high $$ ticket + ferry ride to Riverhead, or stay local and see $5,000 to win SK 150 w/ twin Late Model races for $16 bucks. You decide... If you don't want to choose, again... blame Mother Nature on that one.

Yes, I think it's lame that people had to pay over $30 to see the SK 150 and that was one of the races that didn't beat the weather. I also agree that the Bandolero race is hardly a feature... AND the SK Light race was red-checkered 7 laps short of the scheduled distance. So I'm not sure if I'm buying the half-the-events-were-run explanation for no rain checks. But if you look at the schedule and notice the admission for 9-15 event, or notice that none of the other events where they doubled up the SK, MS and SS features, have increased, IMO it's not that bad. It's not an immediate refund, but over the next few weeks it all balances out.

Not a great situation all round for the track or the fans, especially when no one thought rain was coming this weekend, and by the overwhelming negative response obviously many patrons weren't happy. I'd just encourage everyone to look at the updated schedule on their site before they make their conclusion.

Sids kinda right......it balances out over the next few weeks.........."providing" you're attending. If you had other plans, it wont.

Instead of two features... Give the sk's a 75 lapper (they have to still run the 150 this is for the weekly race) LM, SS and MS a 50 and triple points for all.. Shake it up a bit!

@sid he is making money because he already collected the money for the bud national weekend (those purses are paid already) and he is still going to charge us the same weekend price to watch the race that we already paid for.

I don't think the track mgmt is a fan of double or triple point races. With that in mind, ya have to remember that both the Street Stocks and SK Mods have tight point races involving 3 or more contenders, so scrapping twin 35's for a single 75 makes one less point race and gives an advantage to the point leader (Chadwick). I'm not a big fan of double/triple point races myself, so leaving it as they've reschedule is fine to me in terms of the point battles.

You lost me on the second one :?: How's that purse for the Bud Nats been paid already?? And what do you consider a weekend price? He's not charging $35 again, he's charging $16 on Sept 15... and that's when the SK 150 purse will be paid.

Double 35 lap sk races don't make much sense. We are making up a race we didn't and wont qualify for yet?

Double features are usually installed so that if qualifying is completed you can still run a full show and not scrap the qualifying from a race before.

We are now "making up" a race that didn't even happen yet?

"**Second SK Modified feature will be make up from 9/15 for SK 150 date change** "
